Life

Life, at times, seems so cruel
We love,

only to one day have to let go of that love

We find a perfect job,

Only to have it be taken from us.

What we have is never enough

Or it’s just too much for us to handle…

or for others to accept.

Our family expects so much of us

 Yet in the back of their minds..

  they are expecting you to fail

God says. “You can’t get too comfortable

Because you’ll stop asking for my help,

or worse you’ll try doing things on your own

not accepting any help from others.”

Here I am, I stand before you

Arms stretched out

to offer you a hand

through every step of your journey in life.”

We are blinded

by what we want

And the hold it has on us

To take hold of his hands.

Even when it seems

His love is failing us,

He’s there helping us.

Everything in our lives

has been masterfully planned out…

It’s our job to just live it.

His plan is for everyone 

is success

 and happiness.

The pains,the struggles,

 the lost, the financial burdens

Are all part of the journey.

So we can put our faith

in Him to get us through the troubled times.

When it seems you have no way out,

He sends something, someone or some way

to guide us back in the right direction

You’re on the Right Path

  

Where You Are... Is Where You Needed to Be

Life has brought us to this point.

Through the days, weeks, months, years

We have been loved

Only to realize that love

was not what you felt in return

Or that love got lost along the way

We have been taken cared of

wondering why or if you even deserved it

Or maybe you took care of someone

the best way you knew how

We have been catered and fed

thinking in the back of your minds,

Should I walk away

and if I do, How do I walk away

We have been hurt

left  wondering what went wrong

We have had love taken away

left to think

If I loved unconditionally,

how can they have walked away

We have been walked-out on

with no explanation…

leading to the hurt and pain felt.

We have been irrational at times

Complicated at other times

Easy to get along with,

hard to get along with

Our actions made sense at times

and at other times,

there was no logical explanation

for our actions

At times, we thought about our actions

before acting on them…

But there were other times

we acted on emotions,

letting our pain and fear guide us

…

We’ve lost good friends…

because they loved more than you can handle

Or did something you didn’t like

Somewhere in time…...

we’ve met someone, loved someone,

cared for someone, shared with someone,

hurt someone, lost someone’s friendship,

and walked away from someone...…

Became a parent,

Changed our lives,

moved away

quit our jobs

divorced, separated,

sacrificed...really sacrificed

and left our families behind

Whatever it was,

It was meant to happen

because no matter what

you can look back on

and wish you can change

or regret ever happening,

It happened because

Everything…good or bad,

happy or sad

led you to where you are...

who you’re with

and ultimately the person you are today.

The Cross I Keep In My Heart

There were many times

when the world would let you down,

There were times when

you had the face problems

on your own,

And as a result you felt

the torture and the pain.

For those pains, I cried.

Going through the motions,  
facing all the struggles

Not knowing how to ask for help, 
not knowing where to run.

For those tears, I tried. 
Tried to offer my open arms

To hold and comfort you.

You learned to be free,

You learned to express

the inner you.

Not having any fear,

yet still shedding

some tears.

For those tears, I cried.

You have acknowledged

Jesus as your Lord

And have accepted what has

been put before you.

Don’t be yoked

with the world,

For you are no

longer in the world.

Don’t let your struggles hide

deep within you

For in time, it will hinder

your spiritual walk.

For he who cries, let him weep,

then encourage him.

He who tries, commend him

For at least he tried.

But never forget, HE who died,

For HE died for our sins.
